After a 7-year partnership with founding shareholders Thijs Hendrix and Antoon van den Berg, NPM Capital will sell its stake in Hendrix Genetics to Paine Schwartz Partners, a global investment firm with a focus on the sustainable food chain. After the transaction, Paine Schwartz will hold 50% ownership in the company. Co-founders Thijs Hendrix and Antoon van den Berg will maintain a 50% ownership position in the company and work in partnership with Paine Schwartz to drive the business forward. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Boxmeer, the Netherlands, Hendrix Genetics is a leading multi-species animal genetics and technology company that provides the animal protein value chain with innovative and sustainable genetics solutions to meet the global food challenge. The business has breeding programs comprising turkeys, laying hens, traditional poultry, swine, salmon, trout and shrimp. It has a portfolio of 12 leading brands (Hybrid, ISA, Dekalb, Bovans, Shaver, Babcock, Hisex, SASSO, Hypor, Kona Bay, Troutlodge and Landcatch), more than 3,500 employees and owned operations in 25 countries. Hendrix Genetics’ management team, led by CEO Jolanda van Haarlem, will continue operating the business with support by co-founder, President & Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Thijs Hendrix and co-founder and Supervisory Board member, Antoon van den Berg.
